Eight years later...
Recently, we made new pictures of an old project in the perspective of a forthcoming publication. They didn’t make it in the end, but we couldn’t resist sharing them anyway.
In 2017, we delivered the interior design for the Dekkera project—a craft beer bar/shop in Forest. At the time, we were very proud of the beautiful materials and the high level of craftsmanship embedded in the project.
To be honest, we were also a little disappointed with the ‘empty’ feeling the space initially gave off. It didn’t feel too new, as most of the materials had been reused, but it definitely didn’t feel very alive either.
Fortunately, time has passed. The Dekkera is still up and running, and has become what it was intended to be: a comfortable place in the local life of the neighbourhood. The years have also added a rich layer of patina: slight traces of wear and tear, a certain devotion to football and British post-punk music, and of course local craft beers… It feels much more complete now.
Thanks, Sylvain, for working with us on this project, and congrats for keeping such a nice place alive!
