FEDER - Le bâti bruxellois, source de nouveaux matériaux (BBSM)

As an applied research project within the framework of the 2014-2020 Brussels ERDF program, the BBSM project aims to develop circular processes within the Brussels construction industry.

Rotor’s main outcome consists of providing an overview of current trends regarding reuse in Brussels (Workpackage 1 – Inspirational document), to identify regulatory obstacles, as well as to suggest ways for reintegrating reused construction materials back into the European market (Workpackage 7 – Legal report).

This project is a collaboration between the UCL research group Architecture et Climat (project leader), AE-lab (VUB), BBRI (Belgian Building Research Institute) and Rotor, and is comprised of ten work packages.

The first output of our research (Aug. 2017) is a booklet entitled “Objectif Réemploi. Pistes d’action pour développer le réemploi des éléments de construction en Région de Bruxelles-Capitale”. It can be downloaded here.

The second output (Dec. 2017) is a report summarising the state of knowledge on the question of the application of CE marking to reused construction products. It can be downloaded here.
